Cookies
What the site puts on your device.
The real list, line by line, with what each entry does and how long it stays. You can refuse everything, and the site still works.
Cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small file a site puts in your browser. It lets the site remember something between two pages, or between two visits.
We also use browser local storage, a neighbouring technique that keeps information on your device without sending it with every request. The law treats both the same way, so we treat them the same way here: everything the site writes on your device is in the inventory below, cookie or not.
What we do not do: sell this information on, combine it with data brokers, or follow you around sites that are not ours beyond what the advertising measurement described here involves.
Your choice
On the first load, everything that is not strictly necessary is refused by default. Nothing optional is set until you say yes. Ignoring the banner counts as a refusal, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting.
You can revisit your choice at any time, category by category.
Changing your mind does not delete cookies third-party tools have already set; use your browser settings for that, described below.
Refusing everything has no effect on your order, your delivery or your account. The optional categories serve us, not you.
The three categories
- Essential, what the site cannot do without in order to do what you asked: keep you signed in, keep your box, keep your language, keep your cookie choice. Not refusable, because refusing it would break the service. No consent is required for this category.
- Measurement, aggregate statistics on how the site is used: which pages get read, where visits come from, where people give up. We use it to fix the site, not to target you. Optional, refused by default.
- Advertising, measuring our ads and attributing an order to the ad that brought it, on Google and on Meta platforms. This is the only category that involves an advertising third party. Optional, refused by default.
The full inventory
The entries the site may write to your device. The last three rows only appear if you accepted the matching category.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lifetime | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tc_consent | Tanto Cuisine | Remembers your cookie choice, so we stop asking. | Until cleared | Essential |
| tc_lang, tc_lang_explicit, tc_lang_detected | Tanto Cuisine | Remembers which language you read the site in. | Until cleared | Essential |
| tc_guest_box | Tanto Cuisine | Keeps the box you build before signing in, so it is not lost. | Until you order, or cleared | Essential |
| tanto_referral_code | Tanto Cuisine | Remembers the referral code from the link you arrived through. | Until you sign up, or cleared | Essential |
| tanto_referral_registered_… | Tanto Cuisine | Remembers that a referral was already counted, so it is not counted twice. | Until cleared | Essential |
| tanto_postcode | Tanto Cuisine | Remembers the postcode you checked, so you do not retype it. | Until cleared | Essential |
| sb-…-auth-token | Supabase | Keeps you signed in to your account from page to page. | Until you sign out | Essential |
| tanto:stale-deploy-reload | Tanto Cuisine | Stops the page reloading in a loop after the site is updated. | For the tab only | Essential |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Audience measurement: page views, source, journey, in aggregate. | Up to 2 years | Measurement |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | Google Ads | Measures how our ads perform and attributes an order to an ad. | Up to 90 days | Advertising |
| _fbp | Meta | The same role for ads served on Meta platforms. | Up to 90 days | Advertising |
Third-party lifetimes are the ones their publishers state and may change without us being told.
Who sets them
The "Tanto Cuisine" entries are ours. The others come from providers whose role and policy are as follows:
- Supabase, our database host and authentication service. The session token is what keeps you signed in.
- Google (Analytics and Ads), audience measurement and advertising measurement, loaded through Google Tag Manager and driven by consent mode.
- Vercel, the host of the site, which also provides cookieless audience measurement and load-speed measurement. They load only if you accepted measurement.
- Meta, measurement of ads served on Facebook and Instagram, loaded on the same conditions.
These providers may process data outside the European Union. The safeguards covering those transfers are described in our privacy policy, in the section on transfers.
Browser settings
Quite apart from the banner, your browser lets you block or delete cookies, site by site or across the board. That setting always wins over ours.
The exact path differs between browsers, but it always sits under privacy or security settings. Clearing site data also resets your cookie choice, your language and your box in progress, since all three live there.
The "Do Not Track" signal is not standardised and we do not claim to honour it. We go by your answer to the banner, which is unambiguous.
Changes
This inventory follows the site. If we add a tool that writes to your device, this page is updated before it goes live, and a new tool in an optional category does not load without your consent.
A change to the categories will be put to you again through the banner rather than inferred from an old consent.
