Terms of sale
The contract, in full.
What you are buying, what we owe you, what you can hold us to. Written to be read before you order, not discovered afterwards.
Save or print this page: it is the contract that applies to your order.
Scope
These terms of sale govern every meal order placed on tantocuisine.com. Together with the order confirmation sent to you, they form the entire contract between you and us. By ticking the acceptance box at payment, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.
The seller is the company identified in our legal notice, referred to below as "we" or "Tanto Cuisine". You are referred to as "you" or "the customer".
These terms are written for consumers, meaning individuals ordering for private use. We do not sell to businesses through this site. No purchasing terms of your own apply unless we have agreed to them in writing.
You must be 18 or over and legally able to enter into a contract in order to buy.

- VAT number, BE 1034.313.077.
- Email address, hello@tantocuisine.com.
Our full identity details are set out in our legal notice.
What we sell
We cook fresh, ready-to-reheat prepared meals and deliver them to your door across the 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region. The menu changes every week and is published on the site.
Every dish shows its composition, its allergens, its dietary profile and its best-before date. Photographs are illustrative: a dish plated for a photo may look different from the same dish delivered in a tray.
The offer holds while prepared quantities last. A dish may be withdrawn from the week if it is no longer available; if that happens after you have ordered, we tell you and you choose between a replacement, a credit or a refund of that dish.
We may refuse an order on legitimate grounds, in particular an address outside the delivery area, an earlier unpaid amount, suspected fraud, or obvious business or resale use.
Placing an order
- You build your box by choosing dishes from the week's menu.
- You enter your delivery address and, if you want, your drop-off instructions.
- You check the summary: dishes, quantities, total price including VAT, delivery window.
- You accept these terms and confirm payment.
- You receive an email confirmation setting out the order in detail.
The minimum order is four dishes. Below that threshold an order cannot be placed: a delivery run would make no economic sense. There is no maximum.
Before you confirm, the payment screen shows the exact amount that will be charged, and that amount is carried on the button itself. You can correct your box, your address and your quantities right up to that confirmation.
The sale is concluded when payment is confirmed by our provider. Until payment is confirmed, no contract exists and no dish is held for you.
The week's list closes on Wednesday at 23:59. After that the kitchen goes shopping, and the order can no longer be changed or cancelled by you, subject to the right of withdrawal described below. The following week's menu opens on Thursday.
The confirmation email is your durable copy: keep it. Your orders also stay visible in your account.
Prices and VAT
Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included, and include Belgian VAT at the reduced 6% rate that applies to food.
The price per meal depends on how many dishes are in the same box:
- 4 to 5 dishes: €11 per meal.
- 6 to 7 dishes: €10.50 per meal.
- 8 dishes or more: €10 per meal.
Delivery is included in the price. No delivery charge, no handling fee and no payment surcharge is added to the amount shown. The total you see before paying is the total that will be charged.
The price that applies is the one displayed when you confirm your order. We may change our prices from one week to the next; a change never affects an order already paid for. For the standing weekly order, the price that applies is the one in force when that week closes.
An obvious display error, a zero or absurd price for instance, does not bind us. In that case we tell you before any charge and you are free to cancel.
Payment
Payments are handled by our payment services provider. Card and meal-voucher details are entered on their side and never pass through our servers.
We accept:
- Bancontact, Visa and Mastercard.
- Edenred, Pluxee and Monizze electronic meal vouchers.
One payment method per order. Splitting a payment across two cards, or across a card and meal vouchers, is not possible. If your voucher balance does not cover the whole box, pay the full amount another way or reduce the number of dishes.
Meal vouchers are a legal means of payment for food, subject to the issuer's own rules, in particular their expiry date and daily ceiling. We control neither your balance nor its expiry.
If a payment is declined, rejected or reversed, the order is not confirmed and is not prepared. We charge no fee for a declined payment.
An invoice is made available in your account for every paid order.
The standing weekly order
You can order week by week, with no commitment at all. You can also choose the standing weekly order: your week is then prepared and charged automatically, without you having to order again.
The standing weekly order is an open-ended subscription, with no minimum term and no cancellation fee. It only starts if you explicitly choose it at payment: a stored payment authorisation is never on its own enough to trigger a charge.
In practice:
- Your box for the week is built automatically from Thursday's menu.
- You can change it, skip it or cancel it until Wednesday 23:59.
- After that hour the week is closed and the amount is charged.
- You get an email reminder before every close.
Skipping a week costs nothing and does not end the arrangement: it resumes the following week. Pausing or cancelling is done from your account, in a few clicks, without writing to us and without giving a reason.
A cancellation takes effect immediately for weeks not yet closed. A week already closed and paid for is due and will be delivered: the kitchen has already bought and cooked for you.
If a charge fails, we tell you and the week is not prepared. We do not retry a failing payment method indefinitely.
Delivery
We deliver on Sunday between 14:00 and 18:00, across the 19 communes of the Brussels-Capital Region. You can check your postcode on the site before ordering.
Dishes are cooked on Saturday, the day before delivery. On delivery day you get an estimated window, then a message when the driver is close. These estimates are indicative: traffic, weather and the realities of a delivery run can shift them.
You do not need to be home if you leave drop-off instructions with your order, a doorstep, a parcel box, a neighbour. A drop-off made in line with your instructions counts as delivery, and risk passes to you at that moment. Because the cold chain is no longer guaranteed once the order is left, an unattended drop-off is at your own risk.
If nobody answers and no usable instruction was left, the driver tries to reach you. Failing a solution the order comes back and, being perishable food, it cannot be rescheduled or re-chilled for later. It remains payable in that case.
If we fail to deliver for a reason attributable to us, a missed address, a late run, a forgotten dish, you owe nothing for the part not delivered: we refund or credit it, as you prefer. Tell us the same day or the day after, while the problem can still be verified.
An incomplete or wrong address that you entered remains your responsibility. Check it before confirming; you can correct it in your account until the Wednesday close.
Right of withdrawal
This section matters. Read it before ordering.
In distance selling a consumer normally has fourteen days to withdraw without giving a reason. The law provides exceptions, and our meals fall under two of them.
The right of withdrawal does not apply:
- To goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Our dishes are fresh food, cooked the day before and carrying a short best-before date: they fall into this category.
- To sealed goods which cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection and which were unsealed after delivery. That is the case for an opened tray.
In practice: once the week closes on Wednesday at 23:59, a paid order can no longer be cancelled or returned for a refund simply because you changed your mind. We are telling you this here, plainly and before purchase, as the law requires.
What this does not take away: you remain completely free to change, skip or cancel your order until Wednesday 23:59, at no cost and with no reason given. In practice that window is more generous than a right of withdrawal, since it requires you to send nothing back.
What it also does not take away: your rights if a dish is not as described, damaged, missing or unfit to eat. Those rights are set out in the next section and depend on no withdrawal period.
Conformity and complaints
We owe you dishes that match what was ordered and described: the right dish, the right quantity, intact packaging, sound food within its date.
Write to us if you find:
- a missing dish, or a dish different from the one ordered;
- a tray pierced, opened or deformed on arrival;
- a dish visibly spoiled, or past its date on delivery;
- a composition or an allergen that does not match the dish's own listing.
Tell us as soon as you can, and no later than the best-before date printed on the tray: past that, perishable food can no longer be checked. A photo helps a great deal. Write to hello@tantocuisine.com with your name and the Sunday concerned.
Where the complaint is well founded, you choose between a replacement dish in a later week, a credit on your account, or a refund. A refund is made using the same payment method as the order, unless we agree otherwise, and at no cost to you.
We acknowledge every complaint and answer as quickly as we can. These rights are the ones the law guarantees you; nothing in these terms restricts them.
A disagreement that persists falls under "Governing law and disputes" below, which opens a free mediation route to you.
Allergens and food safety
Every dish lists the regulated allergens it contains. You can record your own allergens in your account, and the site then flags the dishes concerned. That flag is a reading aid; it never replaces your own check of the dish listing before eating.
Our dishes are prepared in a catering kitchen that handles all the common allergens. We therefore cannot rule out cross-contact traces. If your allergy is severe, take that into account before ordering.
Dishes keep for 7 to 10 days refrigerated; the exact date is printed on each tray and overrides any other indication. Store them between 0 and 4 °C, reheat them thoroughly, and do not refreeze them.
From delivery onwards, storing them properly is up to you. A tray left out of the fridge, or eaten after its date, falls outside our responsibility.
Nutritional values and stated weights are indicative and may vary slightly from one batch to the next.
Promo codes, credits and referrals
A promotional code applies on the terms announced when it was issued: a period, an audience, a minimum order value, one use per customer. Unless stated otherwise, a code is personal, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for money.
One code per order. A code does not stack with another code. Loyalty or referral benefits may be forfeited by using a promotional code; the payment screen always shows the benefit actually applied, and that figure is the one that counts.
Credits held on your account are deducted automatically from your next order. They have no cash value, are not refundable in cash, and cannot be transferred.
Abuse, such as creating multiple accounts or reselling a code, entitles us to cancel the benefit and, where appropriate, the order concerned.
Liability
We are answerable for performing the contract properly: cooking what you ordered, delivering it to the right place within the stated window, and doing so under the food hygiene rules that apply to us.
We are not answerable for the consequences of incorrect information you gave us, of unsuitable storage after delivery, or of a drop-off made on your own instructions.
We are not answerable for a failure caused by force majeure or an event beyond our reasonable control: severe weather, blocked traffic, strike action, an energy supplier outage, a payment provider failure, a decision of a public authority. We tell you as soon as we can and refund or credit the part not delivered.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, harm to life or physical integrity, or in any case where the law forbids it. Otherwise our contractual liability is limited to the value of the order concerned.
The site is provided as is. We do what is needed to keep it available and accurate, without guaranteeing uninterrupted service or the absence of every display error.
Your account
Ordering requires an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for orders placed from your account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date, in particular your delivery address and phone number: they are how the driver finds you.
We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these terms, non-payment, fraud, or abusive behaviour towards our team. Closing an account does not deprive you of any sum owed to you.
To have your account deleted, write to hello@tantocuisine.com and we handle it within the timeframes set out in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, in particular to follow a change in the law or in the service. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page when you confirm payment, and it carries a date at the top.
For the standing weekly order, a substantial change is announced to you by email before it takes effect, with a reasonable period in which to refuse it by cancelling free of charge.
If any clause of these terms were held void or unenforceable, the remaining clauses would stay in full force.
Governing law and disputes
The contract is governed by Belgian law, in particular Book VI of the Code of Economic Law. If you are habitually resident in another EU member state, you keep the benefit of the more protective mandatory rules of your own country.
Something wrong? Write to us first: we handle every complaint ourselves, and most are settled in a single exchange.
If we cannot find a solution together, you can bring the matter free of charge to the independent public mediation service, Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur. The procedure is free and takes away no legal remedy.
Failing an amicable settlement, the dispute falls to the competent courts in Belgium, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
